How To Connect Using SFTP to your Linux server
Using FTP, you can easily access and alter your Linux server files quickly. You can use an FTP client such as Filezilla or WinSCP to fulfil this action. Filezilla and WinSCP are programs that allow you to edit your server files as if the files were on your PC.
If you have a Windows server, this guide is not for you. Please use our How to install and configure FileZilla Server guide.
Firstly, you need an FTP program to connect with. We recommend Filezilla or WinSCP as they have the best features. WinSCP Download (Windows only) . Filezilla Download (Windows, Mac) . When downloading make sure you install the Client version, not the server version . Additionally, when installing them, ensure to decline any special offers or sponsored software.
Before you can start using your FTP client, it needs to know where to find your server files. To get your server's FTP details simply follow these steps:
Log-in to your emails
Find our email about your VPS creation.
Locate the username which should be "root".
Locate the password (which was what you entered on setup).
Locate the server IP address.
Open FileZilla
Copy and paste the "IP" into the "Host" box.
Copy and paste the "Username" into the "Username" box.
Copy and paste or type your account password into the "Password" box.
[Optional] If the system hasn't already put in the port. Type "2024" into the "Port" box.
Now press "Quickconnect".
Now you're connected to your server!

Now press "Quickconnect".
Now you're connected to your server!
