What is VoltHosting's Network Setup?

VoltHosting operates a UK-based network, with a 100Gbps core network within the United Kingdom. We furthermore provide direct peerings with CloudFlare and Google. This gives us the possibility to provide low latency with offshore clients!

VoltHosting's ASN is AS214188. You can find some helpful links below:

We operate across multiple datacenters in the UK, with all of our traffic exiting our network in London. Each site is built with full redundancy and resilience at every layer of infrastructure and adheres to recognised standards, including TIA-942 Tier III+ design and ISO 27001 & ISO 9001 certifications.

Our network is well connected, with access to multiple Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers, internet exchanges such as LINX and LONAP, and dark fibre routes. Our network is also carrier-neutral, which includes NTT and GTT.

We also operate strong DDoS protection. You can see more on this: What DDoS Mitigation does VoltHosting have?

We can offer a range of network port speeds. Typically, these are either 1Gbps or 10Gbps, however, we can aggregate ports using 802.3ad, so if you wanted 2Gbps, we could combine two 1Gbps ports.

We support BYOIP on our network. Please contact our support team if you wish to bring your own IPv4/IPv6 addresses. We are able to use our ASN (AS214188) to announce your IP addresses, or you can use your own ASN.

Please note the requirements for announcing your own IPs are:

  • IPv4: At least a /24 CIDR range (254 IPs)
  • IPv6: At least a /48 CIDR range (1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 IPs)

These restrictions are imposed by the way that the internet is designed, as typically any smaller ranges will be dropped.
